The ceramic infuser has small holes to allow water through for ideal steeping, while holding the tea leaves in. You can also use the diffuser to hold a tea bag to make it easier to remove, or just take the infuser out if prefered. The lid and diffuser come off easily so you can also use this pot to hold hot coffee if you like. The lid and infuser are also made of ceramic and are dishwasher safe.
