Good teapot... but.....

I bought one of each of the three colors this teapot comes in, because I am a devoted tea drinker, and I like to keep strong teas brewed in different pots than delicate ones. These teapots are lovely to have on the table, and I like the amount they hold-- just right for one serious tea drinker, or a pair of people to have some generous cups before rebrewing.

My only complaint is this: the included brew basket doesn't get fully immersed before the hot water comes out the spout, when filling it. You try to fill the pot with boiling water, enough to truly allow those tea leaves to float and steep. When the water gets close to one inch from the top of the pot, it starts pouring out of the spout. Easy remedy: just make the spout LONGER.

I think only serious tea drinkers should ever be allowed to design tea pots. This problem would have been avoided if that had been the case. I do love the pots--quality is good, the colors are lovely. Luckily my infusers fit through the lid hole, so I just use my own infusers, so the tea leaves can really get down into that hot water. I'm sitting here right now with a pot of Jasmine tea. Nothing could be finer.

Be aware the volume of this teapot is incorrect

I ordered this teapot for its clear glass and shut off infuser. It was sold as a 34oz pot and was actually 27 oz. I wanted this but felt it is truly false advertising. I called customer service of Bonjour who gave very little satisfaction since they couldn't explain how the model number was the same for 2 sized pots and they now claim they don't make a 34 oz pot. They said they will look into this and they failed to return my call. I believe the pot should be less money than the sale price since it is smaller than advertised. In all internet websites it is described as 34 oz. Otherwise, the pot is a nice teapot.

While this tea pot is a beautiful cobalt color, when pouring tea the spout does not maintain a continuous stream...hence it "leaks" onto the side of the pot (and elsewhere). It doesn't all hit the cup unless one is very careful. Poor design but a lovely little pot.

I purchased one of these from a local vendor some time ago and ended up not using it much because it drips and dribbles big time when pouring. It takes practice to get this thing to pour without dripping, but it's never easy even so, and the big splash cannot be entirely avoided. The spout simply needs a redesign.

It's a shame because otherwise this teapot has a lot going for it. It's very nicely made, it keeps tea warm for a long time (comparing favorably with some cast iron teapots/tetsubin), and if you can't get along with the infuser, there are superior ones which fit this teapot beautifully. I gave this teapot away, after replacing it with a similarly sized one that behaves itself while filling cups. I recommend passing on this one, there are many better performing teapots to choose from.

The company/manufacturer Le Creuset does not package this product very well. When I received this product the first time, the knob was broken off the lid. Only a thin piece of cardboard was used to protect the teapot inside the box. I requested a replacement and received a replacement teapot with the same damage. I have requested a refund and do not intend on purchasing products from this company again.

N.B.: Amazon's packaging was secure; it was the packaging inside the box that contained the teapot that was poor.

Stylish pot but is not very convenient to use

Somebody commented here that this pot is not as red as they thought it was. The product description says it is POPPY red and it is! The pot is modernly designed and looks quite stylish. However, it needs either a longer infuser or a taller spout to be perfect. But I like it anyway:) especially for the price I paid ($9.50). I would not pay $30 for it.

This is a perfect size for those times when 2 or 3 cups of tea just wouldn't be enough. The infuser is ample and allows the tea leaves to expand well. I prefer loose teas but have also used bag teas occasionally without the infuser and have always been happy with the results.

Very high quality. No air bubbles/inconsistencies in the paint. Clean taste after each washing. I use different teas, sometimes let it sit for hours and the pot never smells of the tea that was in it. The diffuser is nice and deep. comfortable handle, never too hot too handle.

The overall quality of the teapot is very good. I really like the size and the color is stunning. It is also much larger than many of the teapots that are available. The problem is with the infuser. The holes are far too large for most of the teas that I brew. Basically, I have decided the toss out the infuser and replace it with paper tea bags that are designed for loose tea. If you are undecided between this teapot and another that doesn't have an infuser, I would go with the one without.

You can definitely get a lot of cups out of this teapot, sometimes 7 or 8. However, we've found that no matter what angle and speed we pour at, it always drips-- not a big stream of tea, but we always have to have something ready to wipe up or catch the spilling.

Good Steeper but...

This is ultimately a good steeper but I feel like the steeper itself could fall anytime from the cap after u "twist it in". It hangs and swings and it makes me nervous when I am putting the cap into the pot, thinking the steeper might fall in.

If there was a click - in method to the steeper into the cap I would enjoy this steeper more.

It does do the job well though.

I ordered this teapot and the matching cream and sugar set at the same time. When they arrived, the teapot was broken and was returned for replacement. The replacement was shipped, according to Amazon, but without a tracking number. That shipment was lost (after waiting two weeks and making a bunch of phone calls) and another one was shipped, again, without a tracking number. It took another week for the third one to arrive and it did make it, finally. The pot is great, but be careful of which vendor you buy from.

My family loves this teapot. The color is great (Chartreuse), the shape is very pleasing and we've used it daily for 2 years, so it's sturdy. And the infuser is the best one available for whole leaves.

Many teapots come with mesh infusers, which deform easily and are hard to clean (small leaf particles stick to the mesh). But this pot's strainer is a perforated stainless tube with a mesh bottom and cleans easily. It's also deep enough so that you can brew half-pots. Plus the separate lid flips over and serves as a drip plate when you remove the infuser.

I bought an extra infuser which perfectly fits my generic stainless travel mug. Great for the office.

My girlfriend loves this.

The teapot looks just like the picture, very nice design and just the right size for a group of 6-10 people. However I was surprised that did not have an insert for the tea. I had to buy that at a local store to make sure it fit, so that added to the price quite a bit. All in all, I am very pleased with the item.
