What a drip!
|
| Review Date: February 12, 2008 |
| Reviewer: C. Fox, OH |
| I bought this Le Creuset small teapot because I wanted something short enough to fit in my Sharp microwave drawer. The Le Creuset certainly does that. However, the teapot is poorly designed in that it is impossible to pour from the spout without tea dripping out from the top opening in the pot. Additionally, the tea does not come out of the spout in a smooth stream - it flows in spurts. Finally, Le Creuset claims the pot holds 22 ounces. It only holds that much if you fill it to the very brim, in which case you can't put the lid on without water overflowing, much less insert the strainer. I wish I hadn't bought this item. |

It's....ok I guess.

| Review Date: November 14, 2009 |
| Reviewer: C. M. Faraci, Maryland |
| This is a really cute teapot but I have a couple of problems with it. The holes in the infuser are too big so my tea is inundated with loose tea leaves. It would be so much better if it were wire like some of the other ones I've seen and used. To solve this problem I have to cut a coffee filter in half and stuff in down in the infuser. Also, the infuser does'nt seem to be deep enough to cover the tea leaves completly with water. I have lots of friends who drink tea but I probably won't be purchasing this as a gift for anyone soon. |

At last, no cloudy tea.
|
| Review Date: February 2, 2010 |
| Reviewer: D. E. Leslie, |
| I have brought several other tea infusersin the past, but this one puts all of them to shame. Loose teas or teabags, this infuser keeps out even the tiniest of tea sediments or "dust". I've brewed all kinds of teas, from the clearer white teas to the deep amber colored teas and in all cases the brew were clear (not cloudy as from the other infusers) and very tasteful. |
Awesome product
|
| Review Date: May 16, 2010 |
| Reviewer: Daniel Chisarick, |
| This item is well-designed and works as advertised. Only the tiniest of particles get through (like tiny dust specks). The holes are so small that residual water inside won't pass without something forcing them through (so it leaves a few drops of water inside when removed). It fits a broad range of mugs, and the lid is sealed so that when you use it to hold the infuser between uses, it won't leak. (The silicone gasket is firmly attached to the lid, so liquid won't seep between it and the steel.) Only stainless steel comes in contact with the liquid, so there is no impact on the taste. |

| This is perfect for using loose tea and even ground coffee, in the office or at home. No more bits of tea leaves or coffee grounds in the cup. I love it. I have tried several different items for infusing tea and this is the best by far. |

Good quality and stylish
|
| Review Date: February 5, 2010 |

Our Bodum teapot became very old, so this was a replacement.
The infuser stays put, no need to hold with another hand when pouring, the shut-off works as intended, overall we are rather happy with the purchase. |

| Reviewer: D. E. Leslie, |
| Actually when I ordered it I thought the teapot would be a little larger. However, I like the fact you can control the strength or intensity of the tea by lowering and raising the lid of the infuser. This allow for more cups. Especially if you're brewing those expensive or rare teas. Careful if you find the need to lift the infuser out of the teapot while brewing-----it's hot. All in all, I love how the infuser keeps in the tiny tea particles which allow for more sharp tasting, clearer and flavorable tea. I'm hoping to find a similar teapot only a little larger. |
Glass pot handle cracks, replacement not available
|
| Review Date: March 31, 2010 |
| Reviewer: Steven W. Buchele, Central Texas |
There is no doubt that the BonJour Loire Collection Glass Tea Maker makes a wonderful pot of tea, and looks great doing it. Add the loose leaf tea, hot water, let it brew, and then press the plunger and serve. However, the design and construction of the glass pot that looks so great, makes it easy to develop cracks in the lower part of the handle where it connects to the pot. Ours lasted three months before cracking.
Considering this tea system costs roughly $50, and it lasted less than 100 days, its an expensive cup of tea.
Replacement glass pot not available. |
cracks easily
|
| Review Date: June 19, 2010 |
| Reviewer: Online shopper, Bay area, California |
| I bought two of these, knowing that they are prone to cracking. But I didn't realize just how prone. The first one lasted 3 months, the second less than 3 weeks. They are great while they last, but are really not very robust (much less so than other glass teapots I've owned in the past). |

Sheer tea drinking pleasures!
|
| Review Date: June 8, 2009 |
| Reviewer: M. V. Vooren, USA |
This very esthetic tea pot is the nicest vessel I have ever used. Of course, I also love very fine and old porcelaine teapots, but seeing your tea in the pot, especially if you use loose tea leaves, is just an added visual pleasure. The color of the brew gives the beautifully rounded teapot its accent. Easy to take care of: just rinse with hot water and let dry. The spout might need some extra brushing at the tip to keep it shiny. Needless to say (I hope!) that glass deserves a delicate hand for handling, but so does all delicate china and other glassware!
May I suggest you go into your garden and find some fresh basil, peppermint, lavender, cilantro, or camomilla blossoms and brew them in your new glass teapot?! It will make for one very ayurvedic teasane drinking experience, good for body, mind and soul! |

| Brewing tea with this pot is perfect every time - never bitter or weak. I like to brew a large pot and store it in a thermos to sip thru out the day. This pot makes just the amount to fill that termos -- it's perfect. |
A perfect teapot

| I just love this teapot. At first, the item arrived without a lid by mistake, Sun's Tea sent me the missing lid right after they received my email. The teapot was exactly what I had been looking for. All glass components without any metal or plastic parts. Very pretty and durable. The infuser is perfect to filter tea leaves and is very easy to clean too. I brew really nice tea with this teapot more than several times per day and enjoy it so much every single time. |

| Reviewer: None of your Business, |
| Some people get excited about a cake or cookies I get happy when I have new tea to drink or a cute pot to cook it in. I do like this teapot however I have another I like more. One of the biggest complaints I have is that the top doesn't fit snug to the base so it clanks a bit when you tip it to pour. I suppose this could have to do with the fact that it doesn't have anything holding it in tight (like rubber), however I have another glass pitcher that doesn't do this. I do love that it's all glass though, which is rare in this day in age. |
Nice, elegant teapot
|
| Review Date: February 14, 2010 |
| Reviewer: James E. West III, Kansas City, KS |
I got this as a Christmas gift for my wife. It's great being able to see the tea brewing, or the water boiling. It's fairly easy to clean, but because it is glass, you have to be very careful. Can't submerge the hot glass in cool water, and have to be careful setting it down. We have gas burners on our stovetop, and it works great.
One negative is that if you let the water reach a full boil, the handle becomes too hot to touch, and so you must use an oven mitt, or something like that.
Overall I am very happy with it, the tea strainer is a wonderful idea and addition. If you can handle the fact that it's glass, its a great teapot. |
It is about taste.

There is no better!
|
| Review Date: January 7, 2010 |
| Reviewer: Dylan Fahey, Alturas CA |
I've had this pot for over 2 months. I've made at least 12 pots of tea with it. It is awesome. Easy to use, and easy to clean once you get the hang of it. I've got some other tea pots, but they have been moved to the back of the shelf. This pot stays on my counter for instant use. I like it quite a bit. Loose tea is the way to go.
Of course you have to be careful with it.
The instructions for making tea are spot on. But I use a spoon more of tea because I like it strong.
Try and wait for this to go on sale to make the tea taste even better with that little dash of 'good buy' in it.

Best Teapot - dripless, dribble-free spout, too!
|
| Review Date: January 27, 2010 |
| Reviewer: Sarah Long, Boise, ID, USA |
| This is a great little teapot. When I bought it several years ago, I was looking for a teapot that didn't dribble, spill or otherwise make a mess when pouring the tea. This teapot is perfect in that regard as well. Its spout is perfectly shaped to avoid dribbling. It looks fragile but has held up well. I rinse it out, but sometimes it ends up in the dishwasher, and I haven't had any problems with that. Highly recommend this teapot.... |
Wonderful little teapot!

| I got this tea pot as a Christmas gift several years ago and it has been great to me! The stainless steel mesh strainer becomes a little discolored after some use, but it's probably fine. It's easy to clean and easy to use! |

| Reviewer: nanette, Northfield, Mn United States |
I purchased this tea pot as a gift for a friend. She had explicitly mentioned admiring a glass teapot; I guess the verdict is still out since she has not had it very long. It is attractive and had the stainless steel infuser she requested. |
Well made, well packaged, and well designed
|
| Review Date: January 15, 2009 |
| Reviewer: L. Kline, New York, NY United States |
| I've made quite a few pots of tea, and it's a pleasure to use. Seems a bit fragile, but it's holding up fine. I like the filter, although it's a little extra work washing out the used tea leaves since you can't get water from the outside to the inside easily. A paper towel or other wiping device could help that. |
Nice but very fragile
|
| Review Date: April 25, 2010 |
| Reviewer: J. Lahue, Central US |
| For the short time that it existed, it worked well. I had this teapot all of 2 days before it broke. It is very fragile and not particularly suited for a crowded active kitchen. I think that I'll go with a ceramic teapot (something that is a bit sturdier). |
